New Class Built, New Path Found

On the afternoon of 31th, October, 2009, a new class of New Path Found has been built up. That is Class 5 of Base Baituyao, 16 persons included, 12 girls and 4 boys. Most of the class members have decided to guarantee that they can offer a long term help, which is strongly requested by the New Path Found, thus making the Big Friends Project a brighter and faster progress. All the members in the office had a wonderful afternoon together. They have become very good friends and hope to know more about each other and to work together in the future.

Big Friends Project focuses on the children from remote areas, who know little about the outside world and possess very few resources. New Path Found organizes people who have sense of social responsibilities and enough time and energy to help these children, by writing letters to them, telling them about the world and accompanying them through dark times. These new 16 members of Class 5 are supposed to help children from Class 09123 in Baituyao, Hebei, each person helping one child.

All these volunteers are not chosen randomly, they have all got through a strict examine and verify to ensure that they are qualified for the work. Then a particular training will be offered to them. Yesterday afternoon was the first training for the 16 persons, who later consist of Class 5. Generally speaking, there are five parts of the training: self-introduction, team-building, questions-discussing, company between the blind and deaf mute game and wish-making. Through all these interesting activities, students get to know each other deeper and gradually come into three unities. Most of the students say that they have benefited a lot in the last two processes, which are the very parts making them in love with the project, the team and the organization.

The whole process begins at 2p.m. in New Path Found office, ends at 6p.m. Four hours together, 16 students and 2 teachers have had an unforgettable great time. Their next move, writing little children letters, is just around the corner. We hope more and more children would benefit from them. “Until they think warm days will never cease.”
